I am always honoured to participate in the Annual Orillia Women's Day Show! This is a non-juried exhibition open to all women to participate and express themselves through art and words. Each year a theme facilitates the feel of the exhibition and this year it is 'Connections'. Over 130 women are participating!
The exhibition is hosted in the Mulcahy Gallery (first floor) at the Orillia Museum of Art & History in downtown Orillia with the exhibition running until April 14, 2019.
My piece focuses on 'sort of' a circle, but is really more like some bright organic mass that oozes outward in different colour layers. As we have to submit our 'story' with our entry to the exhibition, the words came first and gently dictated the resulting art. At the time I sent in my intent to participate I was ruminating on 'circle' so my entry became a circle or words reflecting on 'connections' as opposites. As I reread it now I wonder what the heck I was thinking, ha!
Find the Orillia Museum of Art & History at 30 Peter St. S., in downtown Orillia. OPEN Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm and Sunday 12pm to 4pm.
A bit of a journal about my creative adventures, current and upcoming projects and exhibitions, what inspires me, etc., etc.!
