Recently I made the difficult decision to alter my creative process and move in a different direction with my work. This evolved from physical limitations (and struggles) that I have ignored for too long. I chose respecting my health over continuing with a mixed media process that I developed over many years – it was not an easy decision, but it was the best choice.
Difficult but necessary is very liberating and I have lunged forward into painting on canvas; scribbling, raging and pouring out all my creative energy. It feels good, really good – and it has surprisingly flowed naturally. I am enjoying creating again, free of worrying about my physical limitations. A worry wall has crumbled, and it is an amazing feeling.
And, although I feel this earthquake-ish change in my work, several people have commented that they still recognize the new paintings as my work … so, my creative essence is still there, just expressing itself differently, I guess.
So, welcome to my 2019 art practice where I love to share my process as part of my creative journey! I will be journalling here about what I am working on, upcoming exhibitions and projects, etc.!
A bit of a journal about my creative adventures, current and upcoming projects and exhibitions, what inspires me, etc., etc.!
